ZUCCHI, John
John Zucchi is a professor and a past chair in the Department of History and Classical Studies at McGill University and former senior editor with McGill-Queen’s University Press.
After completing his PhD at the University of Toronto, he was a Junior Research Fellow at Darwin College, Cambridge, before joining McGill. He teaches in the area of Canadian history and his research and books are in the areas of migration, ethnicity, multiculturalism and religion. His most recent books are Mad Flight? The Quebec Migration to the Coffee Plantations of Brazil (2018), and Le Collège pontifical canadien: Une tradition toujours vivante, 125 ans d’histoire (2015) . Zucchi is currently working on a book on late nineteenth-century failed migrations. He has also translated two works by Luigi Giussani, The Religious Sense and The Journey to Truth is an Experience.
John Zucchi is president of the Univers Culturel de Saint-Sulpice, a former president of the Newman Association of Montreal and of the English Speaking Catholic Council, and is responsible for the Catholic movement Communion and Liberation in Canada.
