McCARTHY, Fran

Fran McCarthyFran McCarthy is the Clinical Coordinator of the Neonatal Comfort Care Program at New York Presbyterian Children’s Hospital.  In this role, she schedules prenatal consults, provides emotional and psychological support to families, attends deliveries, educates and supports staff and participates in research. Fran was a bedside Neonatal nurse at CHONY for 28 years before assuming her position in the Comfort Care Program.  She received a Master’s in Nursing from Columbia University School of Nursing as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and is certified in Perinatal Loss Care. Fran is a member of the CHONY Bereavement Committee and the CHONY Friends of PACT. She also teaches new neonatal nurses about bereavement support and practices in the NICU.
