Michael J. HorowitzMichael J. Horowitz is director of Hudson Institute’s Project for Civil Justice Reform and Project for International Religious Liberty. He served as general counsel for the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) from 1981 to 1985, and as an associate professor of law at the University of Mississippi from 1965 to 1967. Horowitz has maintained a private law practice since 1967. Horowitz has been an adjunct professor at Georgetown Law School, special counsel for the Committee on the Judicial Branch of the Judicial Conference of the United States, and special counsel to the National Council of Young Israel. He served as chairman of President Reagan’s Domestic Policy Council on Federalism and was co-chairman of the Cabinet Council’s Working Group on Legal/Tort Policy. In addition to his domestic credentials, Horowitz also served as an advisor to the Czech, Slovak, and Bulgarian Academies of Science; was vice president of the Bulgarian American Friendship Society; Counsel and Trustee of Save Cambodia, Inc.; and a National Advisory Board Member of the Institute for Democracy in Vietnam He earned his LL.B. from Yale Law School in 1964.
