Paul BaumannPaul Baumann is editor of Commonweal, an independent lay Catholic journal of opinion founded in 1924. Baumann previously worked as a newspaper editorial writer and a reporter. His writing has appeared in publications such as the New York Times, the Washington Monthly, the Columbia Journalism Review, Slate, and the Wall Street Journal. With Patrick Jordan, he is the editor of Commonweal Confronts the Century: Liberal Convictions, Catholic Tradition(1999). Baumann was educated at Wesleyan University and Yale Divinity School.
