Friday, October 4, 2019 at 7:00PM
A discussion
with Regina KASUN, Nurse Practitioner, Inova Health Systems' Geriatric Medical House Calls Program, Northern Virginia, and Thumbelina NEWSOME, Owner of Joy Cometh in the Morning Adult Day Care, Newark, NJ
Presented by Crossroads Cultural Center
In a special way, old age is a time of grace. The elderly have the ability to understand the most difficult of situations. With their wisdom acquired through life experience, they are a gift to society. Having walked the journey of life longer than the rest, they serve as guides and points of reference, illuminating our way forward on our own journeys. However, as they age, their need for care increases, and they are often left alone. Through this event, we wish to show places in our society where the elderly are exalted and honored, and those who care for them gain much more than they give. The event is open to the public and free of charge.
