New York Encounter 2012: Politics as Vocation
Friday, January 13, 2012 at 6:45PM
The World Youth Alliance Chamber Orchestra will perform a short piece followed by keynote address by Mary Ann GLENDON
Keynote speaker: Mary Ann GLENDON, the Learned Hand Professor of Law at Harvard University, President of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, and former U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See.
Presented by Crossroads Cultural Center and Communion and Liberation
At the beginning of an election year, even before taking sides, reality itself reminds us about the importance of participation in public life. Besides personal power, is there any other adequate motivation for entering, at any level, the political arena? Conversely, can we really ignore or be totally indifferent to the challenges of political life? Blessed John Paul II offers answers in Christifideles Laici.
