Face to Face with...David Schindler

An interview focusing on the question: Is philosophy dead (as Stephen Hawking claims)? If not, is it still relevant? Have reflection and critical thinking become a luxury for the online generation?

with Dr. David L. SCHINDLER, Theologian and Philosopher

Presented by Crossroads Cultural Center and The American Bible Society

Dr. David L. Schindler is Editor-in-Chief of the North American Edition of Communio and Provost of the Pontifical John Paul II Institute

In a free-wheeling discussion, Prof. Schindler will address questions such as: what is the place of philosophy and theology in a culture dominated by scientistic ideology? What can motivate a young person today to pursue the study of these disciplines? Can they be self-taught? What is the role of philosophy in facing the call by Benedict XVI for a "broadening of reason?" What role can philosophical knowledge play in the public sphere? Can it become a source of law? What is the relationship between philosophy and art?

Prof. Schindler will also speak about his new book, Ordering Love: Liberal Societies and the Memory of God which will be available for purchase.

The event is open to the public and free of charge.

A very exciting opportunity to listen to Dr. Schindler. A man with a great mind. How many seats are still available?
