This is a very important article... with words that only seem less inflammatory, this is the same thing that the Catholic Theologian David Schindler has been saying for years. It comes down to this .. to what or to whom do we belong? We will judge everything through what we belong to. If we do not feel a great gulf of distance - filled with compassion and a desire to communicate - between us as a Church and the very roots of a society that has a different staring point, then we have to wonder what we truly belong to. The other essential point is the very real one of fear, and fear of death. Whether it be the fear of terrorism, or the fear of global warming or exclusion of homosexuals, it is fear that is the most immediate unifyer. What are we willing to die and to kill for? what is our connection to that? is it fear or love? a very good question, that. Thank you, Stanley
