Protestant atheists?

Maggie Gallagher argues that all the statistics about the "decline of Christianity" in the US are really about the final collapse of mainline Protestantism. It is true that most public atheists (Hitchens, Harris, Dawkins etc.) seem to have a very Protestant idea of God.
